Comparison

Webflow vs Framer

Framer and Webflow are both visual website builders, but they target different users. Framer is design-first, animation-heavy, and built around a Figma-like canvas. Webflow is more of a hybrid — designer + developer-friendly with a real CMS.

Webflow

Webflow is best for sites that need a real CMS, more custom code, and longer-term flexibility.

Choose Webflow if

  • Need more powerful CMS (filtering, references, scale)
  • Want more custom-code flexibility
  • Plan to grow content significantly

Both hit ceilings as content grows. We migrate off either when you outgrow the CMS, need real APIs, or are blocked by custom-code limits. From $500.

Frequently asked questions

Can Framer replace Webflow for content sites?
For a small marketing site or portfolio, yes. For anything with serious CMS scale, filtering, or external integrations, Webflow's CMS still wins. Framer's CMS is improving but isn't there yet.
What about migrating from Framer to Webflow?
Doable. Framer doesn't export code, so it's a manual rebuild. CMS data has to be exported and re-imported. We do this regularly when content needs outgrow Framer's CMS.
